Stand Up!

I have been travelling a lot this week on business. For me, it is always exhausting to be on the road, away from home and family. I just arrived home this evening and was catching up on some of the blogs that I enjoy reading.

Yesterday, Tim Sanders wrote a good post called Stand For Something. I encourage you to read it. In the corporate world and even in the non-profit sector, we often get our priorities mixed up or lost in the busyness of business. Quite often our mission becomes all about the money and loses the focus of what the organization really started out to stand for. The difference it meant or desired to make in the world is gone or has been shuffled to the bottom of the deck.

Think about what you do. Think about the organization you work for. Yes, making money is important, but do you and your organization make the world a better place because of what you contribute? If not, it’s time to stand up. It’s time to re prioritize. Life is more than money.

That is a good reflection after a week of being away from home. Thanks for the reminder Tim.
